{"id":13097,"date":"2013-05-22T20:37:00","date_gmt":"2013-05-22T20:37:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=bb24be482dbb50b840619bd30fac0c83"},"modified":"2013-05-22T20:37:00","modified_gmt":"2013-05-22T20:37:00","slug":"government-response-home-secretarys-statement-on-woolwich-attack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=13097","title":{"rendered":"Government response: Home Secretary&#8217;s statement on Woolwich attack"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Home Secretary Theresa May said<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>What happened today in Woolwich was a sickening and barbaric attack.<\/p>\n<p>I have been briefed by the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police and the Director General of the Security Service, and this evening I chaired a meeting of COBR.<\/p>\n<p>The police and Security Service are establishing the full facts of this barbaric case, but there is a strong indication that it was an act of terrorism.<\/p>\n<p>The Prime Minister is returning to London and will chair another COBR meeting in the morning.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, security has been increased at Army barracks across London.<\/p>\n<p>This attack was an attack on everyone in the United Kingdom, and it will be condemned by people from every community.<\/p>\n<p>Our thoughts and prayers tonight are with the victim and his family.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">We have seen terrorism on the streets of Britain before, and have always stood firm against it.
