Firstly, a change to how Registered Bodies complete the \u2018Position Applied For\u2019 field on the DBS application form, and secondly that Registered Bodies no longer receive a copy of the applicant\u2019s DBS Certificate. We previewed these changes in April\u2019s edition of DBS news. <\/p>\n<h2 id=\"position-applied-for--what-you-need-to-do-now\">Position applied for \u2013 what you need to do now<\/h2>\n<p>The Position Applied For field (x61) on the application form will need to be completed differently, and you should start to do this right now. Failure to complete the field correctly may delay the application as we will need to contact you for further information; it may also prevent the applicant from using their DBS Certificate for future employment or volunteering purposes:<\/p>\n<p>You should now include one of the following phrases in x61 line 1<\/p>\n<p>*\u2018Child Workforce\u2019. Use this for any position that involves working\/volunteering with children.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>\u2018Adult Workforce\u2019. Use this for any position that involves working\/volunteering with adults.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>\u2018Child and Adult Workforce\u2019. Use this for any position that involves working\/volunteering with children and adults.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>\u2018Other Workforce\u2019. Use this for any position that does not involve working\/volunteering with Children or Adults e.g. security guard. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>X61 Line 2: Enter a description of the \u2018Position Applied For\u2019 up to 30 characters<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"applicant-only-dbs-certificates--are-you-ready\">Applicant-only DBS certificates \u2013 are you ready?<\/h3>\n<p>We will no longer issue a copy of the applicant\u2019s DBS certificate to the Registered Body. You will need to ask the applicant to see their DBS certificate.
