{"id":13206,"date":"2013-05-24T15:27:30","date_gmt":"2013-05-24T15:27:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=ec3a92c61abbe6b9b31f2dd8afd2d2b9"},"modified":"2013-05-24T15:27:30","modified_gmt":"2013-05-24T15:27:30","slug":"news-story-cinema-advertising-to-be-deregulated","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=13206","title":{"rendered":"News story: Cinema advertising to be deregulated"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Adverts shown in cinemas will no longer have to be reviewed by the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) under plans announced today.<\/p>\n<p>At the moment all cinema advertisements are subject to the Advertising Standard Authority\u2019s (ASA) Committee on Advertising Practice Code, but also have to be reviewed by the BBFC as well. <\/p>\n<p>Following a <a href=\"\/government\/consultations\/consultation-on-exemptions-to-the-video-recordings-act-and-on-advertising-in-cinemas\">public consultation<\/a>, in which the majority of responses favoured removing the BBFC requirement, we believe deregulation is fully justified.
