The <abbr title=\"Fire Brigade Union\">FBU<\/abbr> should reconsider their decision to strike &#8211; announced just 4 days into discussions &#8211; and work for a resolution to this dispute.<\/p>\n<p>The public will be baffled by the <abbr title=\"Fire Brigade Union\">FBU<\/abbr>\u2019s course of action when they hear that the deal being offered to firefighters gives them one of the most generous pension schemes in all the public sector.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">A firefighter who earns \u00a329,000, and retires after a full career aged 60, will get a \u00a319,000 a year pension, rising to \u00a326,000 with the state pension.
