{"id":35578,"date":"2013-11-22T14:15:00","date_gmt":"2013-11-22T14:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=557fdf3b693c594d66b0faf939ef8104"},"modified":"2013-11-22T14:15:00","modified_gmt":"2013-11-22T14:15:00","slug":"news-story-hms-illustrious-en-route-to-the-philippines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=35578","title":{"rendered":"News story: HMS Illustrious en route to the Philippines"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>During 48 hours at Sembawang naval shipyard in Singapore, the aid was loaded into the ship\u2019s hangar by the Royal Navy personnel  and the other forces on board, including J Company of <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.royalnavy.mod.uk\/The-Fleet\/The-Royal-Marines\/3-Commando-Brigade\/42-Commando\">42 Commando Royal Marines<\/a> and the carrier air group.<\/p>\n<p>During the time alongside in Singapore, additional medical teams embarked, along with personnel from <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.army.mod.uk\/royalengineers\/units\/28645.aspx\">24 Commando Engineer Regiment<\/a>. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/department-for-international-development\">Department for International Development<\/a> (<abbr title=\"Department for International Development\">DFID<\/abbr>) is leading the UK government\u2019s aid effort in the stricken islands <\/p>\n<p>Commander Phil Hally, who was responsible for planning the complex task of getting the aid onto Lusty, said: <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>We have managed to fit in everything <abbr title=\"Department for International Development\">DFID<\/abbr> asked us to carry. The young men and women on board have worked tremendously hard and we are very proud of what they have achieved in a very short time.
