{"id":37789,"date":"2014-01-15T09:50:37","date_gmt":"2014-01-15T09:50:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=08dab6f65537b1fff4ae688f64ecd0ce"},"modified":"2014-01-15T09:50:37","modified_gmt":"2014-01-15T09:50:37","slug":"news-story-carmichael-comments-on-economic-figures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=37789","title":{"rendered":"News story: Carmichael comments on economic figures"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>News that Scotland\u2019s GDP grew by 0.7% in the third quarter of 2013 show Scotland is firmly on the road to economic recovery as part of the UK, according to Scottish Secretary Alistair Carmichael.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Carmichael said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Today\u2019s positive GDP figures show that Scotland is firmly on the road to recovery as part of the UK.   Despite uncertain global conditions it is welcome news to see that Scotland\u2019s economy has continued to grow into the second half of 2013.<\/p>\n<p>This Government\u2019s long term economic plan is working and Scotland\u2019s economy is successful and stronger as part of the UK with its security, scale and influence.  The UK\u2019s economic growth is now stronger than the main economies in Europe, the deficit is falling and jobs are being created.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">The UK Government continues to work hard to create a stable platform for sustained growth in our economy benefiting businesses and individuals across Scotland.
