{"id":38033,"date":"2014-01-22T09:56:00","date_gmt":"2014-01-22T09:56:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=a8bd8d770ec51d4759a78c24132827e7"},"modified":"2014-01-22T09:56:00","modified_gmt":"2014-01-22T09:56:00","slug":"news-story-supreme-court-dismisses-all-appeals-against-hs2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=38033","title":{"rendered":"News story: Supreme Court dismisses all appeals against HS2"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The Supreme Court has today (22 January 2014) unanimously dismissed the appeals against <abbr title=\"High Speed 2\">HS2<\/abbr>. <\/p>\n<p>Responding to the ruling Transport Minister Baroness Kramer said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>We welcome that the Supreme Court has unanimously rejected the appeal, which addressed technical issues that had no bearing on the need for a new north-south railway. The government\u2019s handling of the project has been fully vindicated by the highest court in the land.<\/p>\n<p>We will now continue to press ahead with the delivery of <abbr title=\"High Speed 2\">HS2<\/abbr>.
