{"id":38247,"date":"2014-01-28T09:48:12","date_gmt":"2014-01-28T09:48:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=8842bb3d32a7e306928af897a77d811c"},"modified":"2014-01-28T09:48:12","modified_gmt":"2014-01-28T09:48:12","slug":"news-story-gdp-figures-good-news-for-scotland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=38247","title":{"rendered":"News story: GDP figures &#8216;good news for Scotland&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Today\u2019s GDP figures are good news for Scotland, according to Scottish Secretary Alistair Carmichael.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on the statistics, Mr Carmichael said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The fact the GDP figures show the strongest rate of annual economic growth since 2007 is good news for Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>The economy has grown by 0.7% for the quarter and by 1.9% over 2013. This comes on the back of a sustained period of good news for the Scottish and UK economy.<\/p>\n<p>Our plan for the economy is working and there is still a great deal of work to do.<\/p>\n<p>Scotland continues to do well as part of the UK, with Scottish figures showing the economy here grew by 0.7% and is up 2.1% compared to a year ago, with key industry sectors showing positive growth.
