{"id":38509,"date":"2014-02-01T21:17:00","date_gmt":"2014-02-01T21:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=0753a4451765e69903599d31cfd148bf"},"modified":"2014-02-01T21:17:00","modified_gmt":"2014-02-01T21:17:00","slug":"press-release-passengers-rescued-after-bus-hit-by-large-wave-in-pembrokeshire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=38509","title":{"rendered":"Press release: Passengers rescued after bus hit by large wave in Pembrokeshire"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Ten people have been rescued after the bus they were travelling on was hit by a large wave in Newgale.<\/p>\n<p>Milford Haven Coastguard was contacted just after 7pm this evening (1 February 2014) with reports that the bus was stuck on the seafront, having been hit by a large wave and was surrounded by water. The wind at the time was gusting over 50 miles per hour.<\/p>\n<p>Broadhaven and St. Davids Coastguard Rescue Teams, <abbr title=\"Her Majesty's\">HM<\/abbr> Coastguard\u2019s Sector Manager for Preseli, along with police, fire and ambulance crews were sent to the scene. The <abbr title=\"Royal Air Force\">RAF<\/abbr> search and rescue helicopter from <abbr title=\"Royal Marines Base\">RMB<\/abbr> Chivenor was also asked to assist, but was stood down once the passengers were helped to safety by rescue units on scene. There are no reported injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Steve Matthews, Watch Manager at Swansea Coastguard, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>There are tricky conditions on the sea and along the coast tonight, with gale force winds, high tides and heavy rain.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">Our advice is simple, please don\u2019t take risks.
