Young people have got their foot on the career ladder with YouTube, Disney and Google through working with their local Jobcentre Plus (JCP<\/abbr>) adviser, Minister for Employment Esther McVey announced today (4 February 2014).<\/p>\n

Jobcentre Plus advisers work closely with bosses across the country to make sure young people have the skills and work experience they need to get the job they want \u2013 and have started work in places such as the National Portrait Gallery, Google and YouTube.<\/p>\n

Employment Minister Esther McVey will be raising the profile of the unique range of jobs available through working with Jobcentre Plus at the launch of the next phase of the government\u2019s flagship New Enterprise Allowance (NEA<\/abbr>) with celebrity Enterprise Ambassador Levi Roots at the Jobcentre Plus \u2018Office of the Future\u2019 in London Bridge today.<\/p>\n

Minister for Employment, Esther McVey said:<\/p>\n

Many people might be surprised at just how many jobs from emerging and creative industries there are that young people can get into through working with their local Jobcentre Plus adviser.<\/p>\n

Working together with business to create jobs and support young people get into work are central to the government\u2019s long-term economic plan to build a stronger, more competitive economy.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Employment Minister Esther McVey will visit the London Bridge \u2018Office of the Future\u2019 Jobcentre Plus today (Tuesday 4 February) with successful young entrepreneurs for the launch of a new NEA<\/abbr> campaign video<\/a> which highlights the benefits of the scheme.<\/p>\n

The NEA<\/abbr> offers expert mentoring and financial support to jobseekers who want to start up their own business, helping people who have previously been on benefits turn their business ideas into successful enterprises.<\/p>\n

So far, enterprising jobseekers have set up 32,520 new businesses thanks to the scheme, ranging from new internet start-ups to a luxury dog treat company to a new florist business. <\/p>\n
