{"id":38589,"date":"2014-02-04T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-02-04T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=1e9cc386f47e822ea1fd6c90b419a76b"},"modified":"2014-02-04T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2014-02-04T00:00:00","slug":"press-release-press-briefing-afternoon-4-february","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=38589","title":{"rendered":"Press release: Press briefing: afternoon 4 February"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<h2 id=\"scotland\">Scotland<\/h2>\n<p>Asked whether the <abbr title=\"Prime Minister\">PM<\/abbr> was pleased about the comments made by businessman Bob Dudley on Scottish independence, the <abbr title=\"Prime Minister's Spokesperson\">PMS<\/abbr> said that it was important that a leading investor and employer in the UK was raising this issue and Mr Dudley was making very important points.<\/p>\n<p>Asked about the odds of an independent Scotland joining a currency union with the continuing UK, the <abbr title=\"Prime Minister's Spokesperson\">PMS<\/abbr> said that a number of government ministers including the Chancellor and the Scotland Secretary had said that a currency union would be highly unlikely.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"flooding\">Flooding<\/h2>\n<p>Asked whether the <abbr title=\"Prime Minister\">PM<\/abbr> had any view on the comments by HRH The Prince of Wales about the government\u2019s response to flooding, the <abbr title=\"Prime Minister's Spokesperson\">PMS<\/abbr> said that the <abbr title=\"Prime Minister\">PM<\/abbr> had repeatedly said that the on-going situation was unacceptable.
