{"id":43805,"date":"2014-06-17T16:24:19","date_gmt":"2014-06-17T16:24:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=e4549ff0b01a049cbd2acfe61161d833"},"modified":"2014-06-17T16:24:19","modified_gmt":"2014-06-17T16:24:19","slug":"news-story-uk-and-china-sign-memorandum-of-understanding-on-rail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=43805","title":{"rendered":"News story: UK and China sign Memorandum of Understanding on rail"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Prime Minister David Cameron and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang today (17 June 2014) agreed that the UK and Chinese rail industries will work together to boost economic growth, jobs and skills.<\/p>\n<p>The two countries signed a bilateral agreement at the Foreign &amp; Commonwealth Office (FCO), paving the way for closer co-operation on areas such as rail design, engineering, construction, supply, operation and maintenance.<\/p>\n<p>Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>I can see great mutual benefit to be gained from increased co-operation between the UK and China on rail. The railways are a massive success story in both countries and we can boast world class expertise across the sector.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">The government\u2019s long term economic plan is working, and Britain is on the rise. But the job is not done.
