{"id":44576,"date":"2014-07-03T13:45:00","date_gmt":"2014-07-03T13:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=9e7c41ae2344bdddd57fecf1cc2b119d"},"modified":"2014-07-30T10:16:32","modified_gmt":"2014-07-30T10:16:32","slug":"news-story-dstl-presents-full-breadth-of-2014-15-work-to-suppliers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=44576","title":{"rendered":"News story: Dstl presents full breadth of 2014-15 work to suppliers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Updated:<\/em> Presentations from the Supplier Day have been added.<\/p>\n<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (<abbr title=\"Defence Science and Technology Laboratory\">Dstl<\/abbr>) hosted its third annual supplier networking day at the Kassam Stadium in Oxford on Tuesday 1 July 2014, attended by around 400 suppliers from industry and academia. <\/p>\n<p>The event aimed to communicate openly which aspects of <abbr title=\"Defence Science and Technology Laboratory\">Dstl<\/abbr>\u2019s work throughout 2014\/15 are planned for delivery externally, so existing and potential suppliers could easily see how to become involved and work with <abbr title=\"Defence Science and Technology Laboratory\">Dstl<\/abbr>. <\/p>\n<p>The majority of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/collections\/dstls-areas-of-work-programmes-and-project-portfolios\"><abbr title=\"Defence Science and Technology Laboratory\">Dstl<\/abbr>\u2019s programmes and project portfolios<\/a> were displayed on the day, alongside the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/centre-for-defence-enterprise\">Centre for Defence Enterprise<\/a>, Commercial Services and <abbr title=\"Defence Science and Technology Laboratory\">Dstl<\/abbr>\u2019s departments. Representatives from across <abbr title=\"Defence Science and Technology Laboratory\">Dstl<\/abbr> were on hand to discuss individual areas of work, capability requirements and involvement opportunities. There were presentations by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Programme and Delivery Director Richard Brooks<\/li>\n<li>Chief Technical Officer Andy Bell<\/li>\n<li>Programme Director Nick Joad<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There were also interactive workshop sessions hosted by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Programme Director Nick Joad<\/li>\n<li>Operations Director Jenni Henderson<\/li>\n<li>Maritime Account Manager David Sherburn (on behalf of Account Director Chris Gibson) <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>New for 2014 was the opportunity for delegates to book 10-minute 1-to-1 sessions with a <abbr title=\"Defence Science and Technology Laboratory\">Dstl<\/abbr> Director, which proved particularly popular.<\/p>\n<p>Suppliers from across industry, academia and small and medium-sized enterprises were represented on the day; including those with whom <abbr title=\"Defence Science and Technology Laboratory\">Dstl<\/abbr> already works in partnership, as well as those new to working with the Ministry of Defence (<abbr title=\"Ministry of Defence\">MOD<\/abbr>). <\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Xq9Tg5dn-_Y\">Supplier Day 2014<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It is important to <abbr title=\"Defence Science and Technology Laboratory\">Dstl<\/abbr> that existing and potential suppliers can easily see what aspects of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/collections\/dstls-areas-of-work-programmes-and-project-portfolios\">programme and project portfolios<\/a> are planned for delivery externally as early as possible.<\/p>\n<p>A number of presentations took place at the event.
