{"id":46135,"date":"2014-08-07T10:39:00","date_gmt":"2014-08-07T10:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=8c3d4e7c5445e13255a7038a8278f2d9"},"modified":"2014-08-07T10:39:00","modified_gmt":"2014-08-07T10:39:00","slug":"press-release-government-publishes-ccs-scoping-document","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=46135","title":{"rendered":"Press release: Government publishes CCS scoping document"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The Government today reaffirmed its commitment to the establishment of a Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) industry in the UK with the publication of a scoping document which summarises the policies and actions the Government has taken as part of its world leading programme.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cNext Steps in CCS: Policy Scoping Document\u201d also sets out the Government\u2019s intention to continue engagement with the CCS industry and seeks views and evidence on a possible Phase 2 of CCS deployment, taking forward commitments published in the 2013 Electricity Market Reform Delivery Plan.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"image embedded\">\n<div class=\"img\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Policy Scoping Document graphic depiction\" src=\"https:\/\/assets.digital.cabinet-office.gov.uk\/government\/uploads\/system\/uploads\/image_data\/file\/29520\/Policy_Scoping_Document_Next_Steps_in_CCS_August_2014-960x640.jpg\"><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Secretary of State Edward Davey said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe UK is leading the world on CCS and the Government wants to make sure that Britain will be in first place to export this knowledge to a decarbonising global economy.\u201d  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Government is strongly investing in developing a CCS industry in the UK that can compete on cost with other low carbon technologies.
