{"id":46952,"date":"2014-09-01T11:10:00","date_gmt":"2014-09-01T11:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=ef77ea2d0bfcc5a4b32273407eb8c675"},"modified":"2014-09-01T11:10:00","modified_gmt":"2014-09-01T11:10:00","slug":"news-story-hmrc-appoints-two-new-non-executive-directors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=46952","title":{"rendered":"News story: HMRC appoints two new Non-Executive Directors"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Mervyn Walker and Simon Ricketts have joined the <abbr title=\"HM Revenue and Customs\">HMRC<\/abbr> Board as successors to Philippa Hird and Norman Pickavance, who recently left their roles.<\/p>\n<p>Both appointees bring a wide range of senior management experience to the Board, which is tasked with helping <abbr title=\"HM Revenue and Customs\">HMRC<\/abbr> to deliver its agenda and maximise its performance.<\/p>\n<p>Financial Secretary to the Treasury David Gauke said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">These appointments provide a rich mix of Board-level experience in major corporations. They will bring new and further capability and credible challenge to Board discussions.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Ian Barlow, <abbr title=\"HM Revenue and Customs\">HMRC<\/abbr> Lead Non-Executive Director, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">I am delighted with these appointments. Simon Ricketts and Mervyn Walker both have vast experience to help <abbr title=\"HM Revenue and Customs\">HMRC<\/abbr> face the challenges of the future. <abbr title=\"HM Revenue and Customs\">HMRC<\/abbr>\u2019s Chief Executive, Lin Homer, and I would also like to thank Philippa Hird and Norman Pickavance for their valuable contributions.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Simon and Mervyn will take up their roles as Board members on 1 September.
