I welcome the Southern African Development Community’s ongoing engagement and hope all parties will now work together to implement the Windhoek agreements and ensure all disputes are settled in a peaceful manner, and in line with Lesotho’s Constitution and principles of the rule of law. The UK continues to support a peaceful and democratic Lesotho. We look forward to Prime Minister Thabane, as the democratically elected leader of the country, returning to Lesotho at the earliest opportunity.

Further information

Follow the Foreign Office on twitter @foreignoffice

Follow the Foreign Office on facebook and Google+

Media enquiries

              Email
newsdesk@fco.gov.uk

              News Desk
020 7008 3100

James Duddridge urges parties to work together through constitutional means to peacefully resolve situation in Lesotho.

[13
