Digital presentation technology is starting to be installed for providers to use in magistrates\u2019 courts.<\/p>\n

The installation of magistrates in-court presentation technology is initially taking place in 21 magistrates\u2019 courts during September 2014 before full national roll-out.
\nThis is due to take place across England and Wales in the next 12 months.<\/p>\n

The work is part of the government\u2019s ambition to get criminal courts working digitally by July 2016. It is being delivered through the Criminal Justice System (CJS) efficiency programme.<\/p>\n

How does it work?<\/h3>\n

Providers and others who need to present in court are given access to \u2018ClickShare\u2019 technology.<\/p>\n

This allows the sharing of high quality digital material held on the presenters\u2019 own devices through a wireless link to in-court TV screens.<\/p>\n

It makes it easy to share and present evidence digitally for the benefit of defendants, victims, witnesses and the public. <\/p>\n

When is it coming?<\/h3>\n

A first installation has already taken place at Thames magistrates\u2019 court in east London. Further work is due to be completed at specific sites in the early adopter area (EAA) sites by mid-November. <\/p>\n

The idea is to identify and resolve problems at the EAA sites before full the national roll-out.<\/p>\n

The EAAs are West Midlands, Croydon, South Wales, Northumbria, Merseyside, Essex and Hampshire. <\/p>\n

  12. Aldershot<\/li>\n
  13. Southampton<\/li>\n
  14. South Shields<\/li>\n
  15. Bridgend<\/li>\n
  16. Cardiff<\/li>\n
  17. Merthyr Tydfil<\/li>\n
  18. Pontypridd<\/li>\n
  19. Brecon<\/li>\n
  20. Swansea<\/li>\n
  21. Llanelli<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
