{"id":48189,"date":"2014-10-01T08:21:00","date_gmt":"2014-10-01T08:21:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=40ac66ad4074ff3314cc87b60ffcba2d"},"modified":"2014-10-01T08:21:00","modified_gmt":"2014-10-01T08:21:00","slug":"news-story-raf-tornados-second-air-strikes-in-iraq","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=48189","title":{"rendered":"News story: RAF Tornados&#8217; second air strikes in Iraq"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Following yesterday\u2019s strikes on the <abbr title=\"Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant\">ISIL<\/abbr> terrorist organisation, Royal Air Force aircraft have seen further action overnight.<\/p>\n<p>Two <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.raf.mod.uk\/equipment\/tornado.cfm\">Tornado GR4s<\/a> from <abbr title=\"Royal Air Force\">RAF<\/abbr> Akrotiri conducted an armed reconnaissance mission in support of Iraqi government forces west of Baghdad.  <\/p>\n<p>They were tasked to examine a location suspected of being used as an <abbr title=\"Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant\">ISIL<\/abbr> command and control position.<\/p>\n<p>At the scene they were able to identify <abbr title=\"Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant\">ISIL<\/abbr> activity and 2 vehicles, one of which was an armed pick-up truck.
