Advanced new GPS<\/abbr> mapping devices are being used by Rural Payments Agency (RPA<\/abbr>) inspectors this autumn, allowing pinpoint accuracy to within half a metre.<\/p>\n

The new Leica CS25 device means the RPA<\/abbr> has the most up-to-date technology available during inspections for measuring land. It also has increased digital connectivity, releasing inspectors from burdensome administration and allowing them to work more efficiently.<\/p>\n

The RPA<\/abbr>\u2019s Information and Technology Director Ed Schofield said: <\/p>\n

\u201cWe lead the way on digital services but we are determined to be even better. The roll-out of these new Leica devices demonstrates our continued determination to reduce costs and improve our customer service by offering more and better digital options. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe are giving our inspectors the latest GPS<\/abbr>-based technology which will improve the quality and accuracy of our mapping, and which in turn will improve the accuracy of the payments our customers receive.<\/p>\n
