{"id":48387,"date":"2014-10-06T13:52:11","date_gmt":"2014-10-06T13:52:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=b5a3f7c47370874b05e4b83f7fe6eee3"},"modified":"2014-10-06T13:52:11","modified_gmt":"2014-10-06T13:52:11","slug":"news-story-work-begins-on-new-bermuda-park-railway-station-in-the-west-midlands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=48387","title":{"rendered":"News story: Work begins on new Bermuda Park railway station in the West Midlands"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Rail Minister Claire Perry helped push the first spade into the ground at the site of the Bermuda Park station, marking the start of construction work. <\/p>\n<p>The new connection on the Coventry and Nuneaton railway line will serve existing major housing and office developments, with more planned in the future.<\/p>\n<p>The station will benefit over 5,000 local residents in the station\u2019s catchment area and North Warwickshire and Hinckley College\u2019s innovation centre.<\/p>\n<p>Claire Perry said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">It is so great to see this long awaited project finally get going. Bermuda Park is seeing major redevelopment and the new station is a crucial part of this, providing easy public transport access to tens of thousands of jobs in the nearby area. The scheme will also mean upgrades for the Coventry-Nuneaton railway line providing job opportunities for many people. This investment shows the government is serious about funding the infrastructure needed to boost the economy and deliver jobs and growth.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Department for Transport has contributed \u00a34.75 million to the railway line improvements, which also include another new station at Coventry Ricoh Arena and platform extensions at Bedworth.<\/p>\n<p>The investment was announced in April 2014.
