He also met with Mohammed Ahmad Al Bawardi Al Falasi, the Under-Secretary of the United Arab Emirates (<abbr title=\"United Arab Emirates\">UAE<\/abbr>) Ministry of Defence, <\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the end of his visit, the Defence Secretary said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The threat from <abbr title=\"Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant\">ISIL<\/abbr> to the security of the Middle East and the UK remains critical. We recognise that the extremists will not be defeated by military action on the battlefield alone.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">By working with our closest allies and partners like the <abbr title=\"United Arab Emirates\">UAE<\/abbr> we will tackle the violent ideology and expose the group for the cruel and brutal scourge that it is.
