{"id":49792,"date":"2014-11-06T10:59:22","date_gmt":"2014-11-06T10:59:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=29f998d4c5d6d58fd711ef0335cac241"},"modified":"2014-11-06T10:59:22","modified_gmt":"2014-11-06T10:59:22","slug":"news-story-crime-news-praise-for-crm14-eforms-in-crime-provider-survey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=49792","title":{"rendered":"News story: Crime news: praise for CRM14 eForms in crime provider survey"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Nearly 73% of crime providers surveyed about the CRM14 eForm say they are no longer using the old paper form.<\/p>\n<p>And more than 90% rated the eForm as either \u2018easy\u2019 or \u2018really easy\u2019 to use.<\/p>\n<p>Liverpool provider Cobleys LLP said: <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The new process is slick and applications can be completed within minutes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">The portal is user-friendly and human error is less likely.  In addition, there is absolutely no scope for applications being lost in the post.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3 id=\"positive-change\">\u2018Positive change\u2019<\/h3>\n<p>The Nottingham office of provider Cartwright King Solicitors said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>This change is definitely a positive one.  The eForm is faster, saving (us) money and simplifying systems.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">If you are still submitting paper applications in the old way, you should know that you have nothing to fear by using the eForm system.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Our survey highlighting the positive response to the eForm concentrated on Merseyside, Cheshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"popularity-of-eform-set-to-grow\">Popularity of eForm set to grow<\/h3>\n<p>But it seems likely that the popularity of the new crime application CRM14 eForm will continue to grow as it is introduced into new areas.<\/p>\n<p>This is being done in tandem with the Legal Aid Agency assuming responsibility for the processing of criminal legal aid applications across the whole of England and Wales.<\/p>\n<p>The roll-out programme will be completed by June 2015 \u2013 by which time we will have assumed responsibility for processing criminal legal aid applications across the whole of England and Wales.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"take-up-of-eforms\">Take-up of eForms<\/h3>\n<p>Our crime change programme manager Lisa Jeffery said: <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">Take-up is good. We\u2019d like to see similar patterns of voluntary use across the country before we mandate the CRM14 eForm next year as part of the next criminal legal aid contract.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Drop-in sessions are available at selected magistrates\u2019 courts to ensure that crime legal aid practitioners receive information and support about the eForm.<\/p>\n<p>We are also running eForm web seminars.
