{"id":49876,"date":"2014-11-07T11:32:02","date_gmt":"2014-11-07T11:32:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=c5a63ffa9599874b5e41318d8747d935"},"modified":"2014-11-07T11:32:02","modified_gmt":"2014-11-07T11:32:02","slug":"news-story-industry-day-for-electronic-warfare-and-cyber-suppliers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=49876","title":{"rendered":"News story: Industry day for Electronic Warfare and Cyber suppliers"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Suppliers working within the areas of Electronic Warfare and Cyber (<abbr title=\"Electronic Warfare and Cyber\">EW&amp;C<\/abbr>) are invited to a Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (<abbr title=\"Defence Science and Technology Laboratory\">Dstl<\/abbr>) industry day on 26 November 2014.<\/p>\n<p>The event in Basingstoke will focus on a new <abbr title=\"Electronic Warfare and Cyber\">EW&amp;C<\/abbr> procurement for defence suppliers, covering 4 capability areas \u2013 cyber, systems, weapons and analysis.  Suppliers will be given an opportunity to comment on the draft technical requirement and commercial construct.  <\/p>\n<p>The aim of the procurement activity is to provide easy-to-use, direct access to current and future requirements in the following <abbr title=\"Electronic Warfare and Cyber\">EW&amp;C<\/abbr> capability areas: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Engineering design, manufacture and assessment<\/li>\n<li>Cyber, software &amp; modelling<\/li>\n<li>Sensor, sensor systems and signature measurement<\/li>\n<li>Trials and capability operation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><abbr title=\"Defence Science and Technology Laboratory\">Dstl<\/abbr> is estimated to spend around \u00a3200 million over 4 years in the <abbr title=\"Electronic Warfare and Cyber\">EW&amp;C<\/abbr> arena. <\/p>\n<p><abbr title=\"Defence Science and Technology Laboratory\">Dstl<\/abbr>\u2019s Principal Commercial Manager Lee Hammond said: <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">We plan to award a contracting mechanism that enables rapid response to emerging capability needs and urgent operational requirements within the field of Electronic Warfare and Cyber, and allows <abbr title=\"Defence Science and Technology Laboratory\">Dstl<\/abbr> to collaborate with suppliers to realise the benefits of collective knowledge and technology.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Suppliers working on these activities will require access to UK classified information, so will need the appropriate Personnel Security Clearance. Suppliers\u2019 facilities, where the classified work will be undertaken or held, will also need to be granted a Facility Security Clearance. Suppliers must therefore be willing to be subjected to the necessary clearance processes.  <\/p>\n<div class=\"call-to-action\">\n<p><a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/www.regonline.co.uk\/EWCprocurement\">Suppliers are invited to sign up to attend the event and find out more.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The <abbr title=\"Electronic Warfare and Cyber\">EW&amp;C<\/abbr> works in collaboration with <abbr title=\"Defence Science and Technology Laboratory\">Dstl<\/abbr>\u2019s contracting framework Research Cloud (<abbr title=\"Research Cloud\">R-Cloud<\/abbr>).
