{"id":50238,"date":"2014-11-14T12:06:30","date_gmt":"2014-11-14T12:06:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=8ba235b6bf2d2db7262286ae1aaf0ffd"},"modified":"2014-11-14T12:06:30","modified_gmt":"2014-11-14T12:06:30","slug":"news-story-monitor-to-investigate-finances-at-hospitals-in-halifax-and-huddersfield","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=50238","title":{"rendered":"News story: Monitor to investigate finances at hospitals in Halifax and Huddersfield"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>As part of the health sector regulator\u2019s investigation it will look into whether the trust\u2019s leadership could have prevented the recent deterioration in its financial position.<\/p>\n<p>The trust\u2019s latest financial projections show that it could be around \u00a34 million in deficit, when it originally planned for a \u00a33 million surplus.<\/p>\n<p>Monitor is seeking to fully understand this problem and explore what can be done to put it right on behalf of patients.<\/p>\n<p>Paul Chandler, Regional Director at Monitor, said: <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>This investigation will scrutinise the trust\u2019s finances and examine ways to effectively address these problems on behalf of local patients.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">We will also look into whether the trust\u2019s leadership could have prevented the recent deterioration in its finances.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The trust has been working with its commissioners and other local partners to make it sustainable in the long term.
