{"id":50278,"date":"2014-11-14T16:03:09","date_gmt":"2014-11-14T16:03:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=40bb0f7dbc9636a07045fe1e3847cd72"},"modified":"2014-11-14T16:03:09","modified_gmt":"2014-11-14T16:03:09","slug":"news-story-jo-swinson-launches-cranfield-women-on-boards-interim-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=50278","title":{"rendered":"News story: Jo Swinson launches Cranfield &#8216;Women on boards&#8217; interim report"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The Minister for Women and Equalities launched the <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.som.cranfield.ac.uk\/som\/som_applications\/somapps\/oepcontent.aspx?pageid=14249&amp;apptype=newsrelease&amp;id=15568\">Women on Boards<\/a> report at <abbr title=\"Ernst &amp; Young\">EY<\/abbr> on 5 November. This report, sponsored by the <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/frc.org.uk\/\">Financial Reporting Council<\/a>, the Government Equalities Office and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, monitors whether companies have complied with changes to the <abbr title=\"United Kingdom\">UK<\/abbr>\u2019s Corporate Governance Code (known as the Code).<\/p>\n<p>The report by <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cranfield.ac.uk\/about\/people-and-resources\/schools-and-departments\/school-of-management\/departments\/cranfield-international-centre-for-women-leaders.html\">Cranfield University<\/a> shows progress is being made in the <abbr title=\"Financial Times and the London Stock Exchange\">FTSE<\/abbr> 100 companies with 85% having a clear policy on boardroom diversity in comparison to 65% last year. <\/p>\n<p>The report also highlighted that more needs to be done to improve the figure of 38% of companies who had addressed diversity in their board evaluation process, and out of 98% of companies who reported on succession planning, only 32% specified gender. However, more than half, 52% of companies, demonstrated clear policies or measures aimed at increasing the number of women in senior management.<\/p>\n<p>In listed companies numbered 101 to 201, figures were lower than the <abbr title=\"Financial Times and the London Stock Exchange\">FTSE<\/abbr> 100 but still higher than a sample taken last year.
