{"id":50389,"date":"2014-11-18T11:23:00","date_gmt":"2014-11-18T11:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=c8ce2f43d6a39bc7de2abd3f8d60d37f"},"modified":"2014-11-18T11:23:00","modified_gmt":"2014-11-18T11:23:00","slug":"press-release-preferred-bidders-of-prison-services-competition-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=50389","title":{"rendered":"Press release: Preferred bidders of prison services competition announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The Ministry of Justice has today (18 November 2014) revealed the preferred bidders for the management of a range of works, maintenance and facilities management services across public sector prisons.<\/p>\n<p>Amey and Carillion have been named as the desired providers following a competition process to provide:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>maintenance<\/li>\n<li>works and building projects<\/li>\n<li>management of prison stores<\/li>\n<li>waste disposal and collection<\/li>\n<li>energy and environmental management <\/li>\n<li>cleaning<\/li>\n<li>escorting of contractors and their vehicles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>to public sector prisons across England and Wales.<\/p>\n<p>Each company was selected as a preferred bidder for 2 separate geographical areas following a competition process that is set to save taxpayers around \u00a3115 million over a 5 year period.<\/p>\n<p>The preferred bidders are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lot 1 \u2013 Amey \u2013 North East, North West, Yorkshire and Humberside <\/li>\n<li>Lot 2 \u2013 Amey &#8211; East Midlands, West Midlands, Wales <\/li>\n<li>Lot 3 \u2013 Carillion &#8211; East of England, London <\/li>\n<li>Lot 4 \u2013 Carillion &#8211; South West, South Central, Kent and Sussex <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The competition was announced in June 2013 and formally launched in January 2014, as part of the government\u2019s programme of work to drive down costs and improve outcomes across the prison estate without compromising public safety.<\/p>\n<p>The new providers are expected to start delivering services on 1 June 2015 following a period of mobilisation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Preferred bidders for the management of a range of works, maintenance and facilities management services across public sector prisons revealed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[13],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/50389"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/8"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=50389"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/50389\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=50389"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=50389"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=50389"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
