{"id":50447,"date":"2014-11-19T12:01:30","date_gmt":"2014-11-19T12:01:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=e0d3d5f4f022bbebfe94ca1b89998a03"},"modified":"2014-11-19T12:01:30","modified_gmt":"2014-11-19T12:01:30","slug":"news-story-preferred-bidder-to-run-defence-support-group-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=50447","title":{"rendered":"News story: Preferred bidder to run Defence Support Group announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/uploads\/system\/uploads\/attachment_data\/file\/62482\/strategic-defence-security-review.pdf\">Strategic Defence &amp; Security Review White Paper<\/a> published in October 2010 by the Prime Minister announced the government\u2019s intention to sell the Defence Support Group (<abbr title=\"Defence Support Group\">DSG<\/abbr>). <\/p>\n<p>This was in order to reduce <abbr title=\"Ministry of Defence\">MOD<\/abbr>\u2019s running costs and focus resources on the front line.  <\/p>\n<p>The sale also gives <abbr title=\"Defence Support Group\">DSG<\/abbr> access to the investment required to grow and transform the services it provides to the armed forces.<\/p>\n<p>A buyer will continue to provide the front line with <abbr title=\"Defence Support Group\">DSG<\/abbr>\u2019s capabilities to maintain and repair key military equipment and manage the storage of the land vehicle fleet.
