Local councils calculate the bill based on this rateable value.\u202c <\/p>\n<h2 id=\"changes-as-a-result-of-a-ratepayer-appeal\">Changes as a result of a ratepayer appeal<\/h2>\n<p>If we receive your appeal on or after 1 April 2015 then the earliest we can backdate any changes in most cases  is that date. Your billing authority will only backdate any business rates rebate to that same date. <\/p>\n<p>You continue to have your full legal rights to appeal your rating assessment.<\/p>\n<p>You can find out more about your valuation, including the details we have for your property using the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/correct-your-business-rates\">VOA\u2019s rating list application.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"changes-as-a-result-of-the-voa-receiving-new-information\">Changes as a result of the VOA receiving new information<\/h2>\n<p>We will continue to alter rating assessments if new information comes to light indicating the valuation is inaccurate.
