{"id":51310,"date":"2014-12-08T17:08:52","date_gmt":"2014-12-08T17:08:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=3e0e11d65b363278ec29afb622b64f45"},"modified":"2014-12-08T17:08:52","modified_gmt":"2014-12-08T17:08:52","slug":"news-story-uk-and-france-support-contract-to-maintain-a400m-fleet","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=51310","title":{"rendered":"News story: UK and France support contract to maintain A400M fleet"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The UK and France jointly awarded the common in-service support contract to Airbus Defence and Space. <\/p>\n<p>The contract covers all areas of maintenance and includes the implementation of spare parts pooling and the establishment of maintenance engineering services to benefit both air forces.<\/p>\n<p>Defence Minister Philip Dunne said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The signature of this joint contract for the support of the <a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/www.raf.mod.uk\/rafbrizenorton\/equipment\/a400matlas.cfm\">A400M Atlas<\/a> fleet is the achievement of successful British-French discussions over a number of years, and is an important milestone of increasing mutual collaboration at the heart of agreements made under the Lancaster House Treaty for defence and security cooperation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">The joint support contract is another example of cooperation across a truly multinational programme that will see 170 A400M aircraft delivered to 7 partner nations over the coming years.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure class=\"image embedded\">\n<div class=\"img\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Philip Dunne and Laurent Collet-Billon \" src=\"https:\/\/assets.digital.cabinet-office.gov.uk\/government\/uploads\/system\/uploads\/image_data\/file\/34198\/DDC-14-332-003g.jpg\"><\/div><figcaption>Defence Minister Philip Dunne meeting with French Defence Minister Laurent Collet-Billon [Picture: Petty Officer Airman (Photographer) Owen Cooban, Crown copyright]<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The D\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9 g\u00e9n\u00e9ral pour l\u2019armement Laurent Collet-Billon added:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The intention is to further expand on early collaboration activities where feasible and value for money in support activities areas.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">This newly signed joint contract demonstrates added value under the French and British leadership for a common approach for in-service support and paves the way for possibly our A400M partners to move forward that way.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The contract was awarded by the British <abbr title=\"Ministry of Defence\">MOD<\/abbr>\u2019s procurement agency, Defence Equipment &amp; Support, and the French Direction g\u00e9n\u00e9rale de l\u2019armement.<\/p>\n<p>To date, Airbus Defence and Space has delivered 7 of the 170 A400M aircraft ordered by the 7 partner nations \u2013 Belgium, France, Germany, Luxemburg, Spain, United Kingdom and Turkey.<\/p>\n<p>Five aircraft have been delivered so far to France, while the UK\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/first-uk-a400m-atlas-delivered-to-the-raf\">first A400M Atlas was officially unveiled by the <abbr title=\"Ministry of Defence\">MOD<\/abbr> last month at RAF Brize Norton<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The first contract has been awarded for the maintenance and support of the new A400M Atlas military aircraft.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[13],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/51310"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/8"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=51310"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/51310\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=51310"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=51310"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=51310"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
