{"id":51321,"date":"2014-12-09T09:03:00","date_gmt":"2014-12-09T09:03:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=aac35e57f5f6592c5e7c273291111eeb"},"modified":"2014-12-09T09:03:00","modified_gmt":"2014-12-09T09:03:00","slug":"news-story-dvla-and-mib-announce-the-launch-of-mylicence-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=51321","title":{"rendered":"News story: DVLA and MIB announce the launch of MyLicence service"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>MyLicence is part of a joint initiative between <abbr title=\"Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency\">DVLA<\/abbr> and <abbr title=\"Motor Insurers Bureau\">MIB<\/abbr> delivering the first digital sharing initiative for the motor insurance industry involving driver details. <\/p>\n<p>The initiative is the first of its kind and was developed in partnership with the Association of British Insurers in response to the government\u2019s Insurance Industry Access to Driver Data programme and <abbr title=\"Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency\">DVLA<\/abbr>\u2019s ongoing aims to digitise the driver data it holds.<\/p>\n<p>The launch of MyLicence is an important step in allowing motor insurers access to driver information. It will act as a deterrent against insurance fraud and in some cases, should reduce insurance premiums for GB motorists. MyLicence aims to protect motorists from unwittingly making false declarations regarding their motoring convictions which could invalidate their insurance and will improve road safety by providing a more accurate risk assessment of drivers.<\/p>\n<p>Transport Minister Claire Perry said: <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">MyLicence is good news for motorists and good news for the motor insurance industry.
