This is the \u2018F\u2019 number if a paper application was submitted to the DBS or an \u2018E\u2019 number if the application was submitted via the electronic route. <\/p>\n<p>Ask the person or organisation who submitted your check for the application reference number. <\/p>\n<p>Employers can also use our <a rel=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/secure.crbonline.gov.uk\/enquiry\/multipleEnquirySearch.do\">multiple online tracking service<\/a> to view several DBS applications at once and order blank application forms.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"stages-of-the-dbs-checking-process\">Stages of the DBS checking process<\/h2>\n<p>When you track your application online you will be given information about what stage your application is at.
