{"id":52160,"date":"2015-01-05T13:59:32","date_gmt":"2015-01-05T13:59:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=327f45bcbf7cf5b501affe2a2e84862a"},"modified":"2015-01-05T13:59:32","modified_gmt":"2015-01-05T13:59:32","slug":"news-story-cma-confirms-pork-pies-merger-referral","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=52160","title":{"rendered":"News story: CMA confirms pork pies merger referral"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/pork-pies-merger-may-give-rise-to-competition-concerns\">announced<\/a> on 17 December 2014 that it would refer the merger for a full investigation unless Pork Farms offered acceptable undertakings to address the CMA\u2019s competition concerns. This follows concerns that it may lead to higher prices or a reduction in choice or quality for consumers of these chilled savoury pastry products.<\/p>\n<p>As Pork Farms has not offered any undertakings, the CMA will now start an in-depth merger investigation.
