{"id":52324,"date":"2015-01-09T11:22:51","date_gmt":"2015-01-09T11:22:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=5714542254fb33913c8607dad2bd8386"},"modified":"2015-01-09T11:22:51","modified_gmt":"2015-01-09T11:22:51","slug":"press-release-interim-manager-appointed-to-al-fatiha-global-charity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=52324","title":{"rendered":"Press release: Interim Manager appointed to Al-Fatiha Global charity"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The Charity Commission has appointed an Interim Manager to the charity Al-Fatiha Global (<a rel=\"external\" href=\"http:\/\/apps.charitycommission.gov.uk\/Showcharity\/RegisterOfCharities\/CharityWithPartB.aspx?RegisteredCharityNumber=1056562&amp;SubsidiaryNumber=0\">registered charity number 1056562<\/a>) (\u2018the Charity\u2019).<\/p>\n<p>On the 23 December 2014, the commission used its powers under the Charities Act 2011 (\u2018the Act\u2019) to appoint Michael King of Stone King as Interim Manager of the Charity. This appointment is with the inclusion of the Charity\u2019s trustees as a temporary and protective measure. This means that the Interim Manager will work alongside the trustees, who remain in place and continue to have the full powers, legal duties and responsibilities of trustees.<\/p>\n<p>An Inquiry was opened on 21 March 2014. For further information about this see our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/news\/charity-regulator-opens-inquiry-into-al-fatiha-global\">public statement on the opening of the Inquiry<\/a> on GOV.UK.<\/p>\n<p>The Interim Manager\u2019s main tasks include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>appointing new trustees so there are sufficient numbers for meeting the quorum and the charity is able to operate constitutionally<\/li>\n<li>putting in place suitable policies and procedures including for sound governance and financial management including due diligence, monitoring and selection of its operational partners and conduct of its work overseas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It is the commission\u2019s policy, after it has concluded an inquiry, to publish a report detailing what issues the inquiry looked at, what actions were undertaken as part of the inquiry and what the outcomes were. The opening of an inquiry gives the commission access to a range of protective and remedial powers. Section 76(3)(g) of the Act is temporary and protective power available to the commission after an inquiry has been opened to appoint an Interim Manager.
