They cover the following reformed GCSE subjects:   <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Art and design<\/li>\n<li>Computer science<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And reformed GCSEs, AS and A levels in the following subjects: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dance<\/li>\n<li>Music <\/li>\n<li>Physical education<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ofqual has produced a short <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/uploads\/system\/uploads\/attachment_data\/file\/398252\/2015-01-26-confirmed-assessment-arrangements-for-reformed-as-and-a-level-qualifications.pdf\">document<\/a> explaining the decisions it has taken. The key decisions are summarised below.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"summary-of-decisions\">Summary of decisions<\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>Ofqual has previously confirmed that new AS and A level qualifications will not be tiered, and that new GCSEs should only be tiered where a single set of assessments cannot in a valid and manageable way assess students across the full ability range. None of the GCSEs included in today\u2019s announcement will be tiered.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Ofqual has finalised the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/assessment-objectives-ancient-languages-geography-and-mfl\">assessment objectives<\/a> for all subjects included in today\u2019s announcements.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The balance of exam and non-exam assessment for new qualifications in these subjects is detailed in the table below. These are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p>GCSEs in: citizenship studies, cooking and nutrition, design and technology, drama and religious studies. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>AS qualifications and A levels in: drama and theatre, and religious studies.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The results of this consultation will be announced in February 2015.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>-ends- <\/p>\n<h3 id=\"note\">Note<\/h3>\n<p>*The existing regulatory requirements for assessment in these subjects were not designed to our current definition of non-exam assessment. Instead they were determined by the amount of \u2018internal\u2019 and \u2018external\u2019 assessment permitted.
