{"id":53132,"date":"2015-01-30T09:32:21","date_gmt":"2015-01-30T09:32:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=76e92cf38f7921a24af68bff2988f1d6"},"modified":"2015-01-30T09:32:21","modified_gmt":"2015-01-30T09:32:21","slug":"press-release-rpa-announces-sps-target-surpassed-more-than-two-months-early","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=53132","title":{"rendered":"Press release: RPA announces SPS target surpassed more than two months early"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>The Rural Payments Agency (<abbr title=\"Rural Payments Agency\">RPA<\/abbr>) has exceeded its Single Payment Scheme (<abbr title=\"Single Payment Scheme\">SPS<\/abbr>) 2014 target for the end of March, more than two months ahead of schedule.<\/p>\n<p>By Wednesday (28 January) the Agency had paid a total of nearly \u00a31.46 billion to nearly 100,000 farmers in England. This equates to 98.4 per cent of farmers eligible to claim and 97.3 per cent of the total estimated fund value.<\/p>\n<p>In its 2014-2015 Business Plan, the <abbr title=\"Rural Payments Agency\">RPA<\/abbr> had set targets for 97 per cent of customers and 97 per cent of total estimated fund value to be paid out by 31 March this year.<\/p>\n<p>Farming Minister George Eustice said: <\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Our farming industry is at the heart of the government\u2019s long-term economic plan, so I am pleased that the <abbr title=\"Rural Payments Agency\">RPA<\/abbr> has ensured that almost all farmers have already received their CAP payments, almost two months ahead of schedule.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">I am determined that the <abbr title=\"Rural Payments Agency\">RPA<\/abbr>\u2019s good progress is maintained as we move to the new Basic Payment Scheme, and we are working to ensure the claim process is as simple as possible for farmers on the new digital service called Rural Payments.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Mark Grimshaw, <abbr title=\"Rural Payments Agency\">RPA<\/abbr> Chief Executive, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>While we are delighted with our performance in the final year of <abbr title=\"Single Payment Scheme\">SPS<\/abbr> and it shows just how far we have come in our drive to become a trusted, efficient and effective organisation, we do not intend to rest on our laurels.<\/p>\n<p>Our focus now is on ensuring all those farmers who remain unpaid, especially those who supply to First Milk, get their money as soon as possible.
