Mr Martin will take up his appointment during September 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Martin joined the FCO in 1984 and served in London, Rangoon, Budapest and Prague in a number of policy and commercial roles.  His most recent role was as Deputy Private Secretary to Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall.<\/p>\n<p>On his appointment as Her Majesty\u2019s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mr Martin has said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">I am delighted and honoured to be asked to represent the United Kingdom in Bahrain.  Our two Kingdoms share a long and special history.  I look forward to the celebration of the bicentenary of our relationship in 2016.  We are strong partners in many fields.
