{"id":53641,"date":"2015-02-10T10:30:00","date_gmt":"2015-02-10T10:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=3392e014a497ffa51138c7e381c66315"},"modified":"2015-02-10T10:30:00","modified_gmt":"2015-02-10T10:30:00","slug":"news-story-company-car-drivers-can-report-changes-to-hmrc-online","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=53641","title":{"rendered":"News story: Company car drivers can report changes to HMRC online"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>This means that Pay As You Earn (<abbr title=\"Pay As You Earn\">PAYE<\/abbr>) customers who have company cars will be able to make any changes online to their company cars and will no longer have to wait for <abbr title=\"HM Revenue and Customs\">HMRC<\/abbr> to update their tax code for them.<\/p>\n<p><abbr title=\"HM Revenue and Customs\">HMRC<\/abbr>\u2019s Chief Digital and Information Officer, Mark Dearnley, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><abbr title=\"HM Revenue and Customs\">HMRC<\/abbr> is rolling out customer-focused digital services that are so straightforward and convenient that everyone who can use them will choose to do so.<\/p>\n<p>Our digital services will deliver significant savings to <abbr title=\"HM Revenue and Customs\">HMRC<\/abbr>\u2019s customers in both the cost of phone calls and time spent dealing with the department. They will also mean that people can deal with the department when it is most convenient for them \u2013 rather than for us.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">This trial means that we can incorporate customer\u2019s feedback to ensure we deliver a service they want.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gov.uk\/companycartax\">new digital service<\/a> is being used with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/introducing-govuk-verify\/introducing-govuk-verify\">GOV.UK Verify<\/a> \u2013 the new way for people to prove who they are when using government digital services. <\/p>\n<p><abbr title=\"HM Revenue and Customs\">HMRC<\/abbr> receives about 4.3 million calls a year from customers about their tax codes. <\/p>\n<p><abbr title=\"HM Revenue and Customs\">HMRC<\/abbr> has recently completed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/consultations\/employee-benefits-and-expenses-real-time-collection-of-tax-on-benefits-in-kind-and-expenses-through-voluntary-payrolling\">public consultation<\/a> on voluntary pay-rolling of benefits-in-kind, including company car benefits.
