{"id":53892,"date":"2015-02-13T13:10:00","date_gmt":"2015-02-13T13:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=19d5c378a04fb5f4b397fb56fd406c6a"},"modified":"2015-02-13T13:10:00","modified_gmt":"2015-02-13T13:10:00","slug":"news-story-5-million-to-improve-access-to-port-of-immingham","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=53892","title":{"rendered":"News story: \u00a35 million to improve access to Port of Immingham"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>A vital link road to improve access to the Port of Immingham and remove <abbr title=\"heavy goods vehicle\">HGV<\/abbr> traffic travelling through the nearby town will be built thanks to nearly \u00a35 million government funding announced today, Friday 13 February 2015.<\/p>\n<p>The A18\/A180 link road will be used by traffic coming from across Lincolnshire and the UK.<\/p>\n<p>The road will provide much-needed relief to residents, who must currently endure heavy traffic travelling to and from the port through the town centre and residential areas at a rate of 1 per minute.<\/p>\n<p>Transport Minister Baroness Kramer said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"last-child\">The \u00a34.9 million government funding we are announcing today will improve access and bring economic and growth opportunities to the Port of Immingham and the local economy. With the port expanding over the coming years, the A18 and the A180 link road will end the existing traffic problems and improve the lives of local people.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The scheme being announced today will provide a new link at the A180 connecting to the B1210.<\/p>\n<p>It comprises:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>approximately 1 kilometre of new single carriageway<\/li>\n<li>a new \u2018arm\u2019 to the existing roundabout at the A180 Stallingborough Interchange<\/li>\n<li>a new 3 arm roundabout constructed at the termination point with the B1210<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The department will provide a maximum of \u00a34.911 million towards the full scheme cost of \u00a36.266 million.
