The Official Solicitor\u2019s Court of Protection: Property and Affairs team has a vacancy for a lawyer.<\/p>\n

The post holder will be responsible for all aspects of the management of a personal case load and for the conduct of those cases on behalf of the client in the Court of Protection. In all cases the aim is to achieve the best possible result in the best interests of the person represented.<\/p>\n

Candidates will be expected to have experience in private client work including the drafting of wills, deeds, settlements and knowledge of tax planning, the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and familiarity with the Court of Protection\u2019s rules and practice. The role involves the conduct of litigation on behalf of the client in the Court of Protection. Advocacy experience is desirable but not essential but the candidate must be willing to undertake advocacy in the performance of the role.<\/p>\n
