{"id":54647,"date":"2015-03-03T16:00:29","date_gmt":"2015-03-03T16:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=4db00297bca5731646645c96de00dce7"},"modified":"2015-03-03T16:00:29","modified_gmt":"2015-03-03T16:00:29","slug":"news-story-crime-news-national-trial-blitz-starts-in-april-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=54647","title":{"rendered":"News story: Crime news: national \u2018trial blitz\u2019 starts in April 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>A national \u2018trial blitz\u2019 to deal with backlogs in the criminal justice system is to start in April 2015.<\/p>\n<p>As the \u2018trial blitz\u2019 rolls out there is likely to be a rise in the level of criminal legal aid work processed in areas taking part.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative has come from the judiciary and has the backing of the Lord Chief Justice and the Senior Presiding Judge.  <\/p>\n<p>It will start in London on 13 April for a six week period before moving on to Manchester, Kent and other parts of the country where the idea has been welcomed. <\/p>\n<p>The \u2018trial blitz\u2019 will concentrate on shorter and less complicated trials and be focused on areas where the backlogs are highest. It is being launched to support the Transforming Summary Justice programme.
