A former High Sheriff, he has had a broad portfolio of charitable work, as a trustee to St Luke\u2019s Hospice, Broomgrove Nursing Home, the Bluecoat Educational Trust and the Freshgate Foundation. He is Chair of the Sheffield Cathedral Council. He has been a non-executive director of Sheffield University Students\u2019 Union. He has a particular interest in developing community cohesion and serves as Secretary of the South Yorkshire Muslim Community Forum. Mr Coombe lives in Sheffield with his wife, Sue.
