{"id":54745,"date":"2015-03-05T11:49:00","date_gmt":"2015-03-05T11:49:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=96bfe60cc758f1910117f0a2d2d9bb6a"},"modified":"2015-03-05T11:49:00","modified_gmt":"2015-03-05T11:49:00","slug":"news-story-uk-government-helping-hundreds-of-first-time-buyers-in-wales-get-on-the-housing-ladder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=54745","title":{"rendered":"News story: UK Government helping hundreds of first time buyers in Wales get on the housing ladder"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Welsh Secretary Stephen Crabb today (5 March) hailed the UK Government\u2019s mortgage guarantee scheme as new figures show that it has helped hundreds of people across Wales buy a home.<\/p>\n<p>Since the scheme was started in 2013, 1,530 first time buyers in Wales have been able to buy a home of their own.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Crabb said the Welsh Government now needed to extended their version of the Help to Buy equity loan scheme to 2020 &#8211; as the UK Government has done &#8211; to reassure homebuyers and the housebuilding industry in Wales.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"stephen-crabb-said\">Stephen Crabb said:<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p>For too long, too many people have struggled to make their dream of home ownership a reality &#8211; but today\u2019s figures show that is changing.<\/p>\n<p>Hundreds of people across Wales have used our mortgage guarantee scheme to climb onto the first rung of the housing ladder.<\/p>\n<p>In England we have extended the Help to Buy equity loan scheme until 2020. I know housebuilders are concerned the Welsh Government have not made the same commitment with their own scheme.<\/p>\n<p class=\"last-child\">Wales needs to reap the economic benefits of a vibrant housebuilding industry.
