{"id":55100,"date":"2015-03-12T11:51:00","date_gmt":"2015-03-12T11:51:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=4c1a36256a46d4f254d7c561a9b285ac"},"modified":"2015-03-12T11:51:00","modified_gmt":"2015-03-12T11:51:00","slug":"news-story-transport-minister-opens-beverley-southern-relief-road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=55100","title":{"rendered":"News story: Transport Minister opens Beverley southern relief road"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Roads Minster Robert Goodwill officially opened the Beverley southern relief road today (12 March 2015).<\/p>\n<p>The town\u2019s southern relief road \u2013 known as Minster Way \u2013 is a 1.7 mile stretch of new road that will carry 13,000 vehicles a day around the town, cutting congestion and improving traffic flows. The new road runs from the A164 Victoria Road roundabout around the south of Beverley to the A1174 Hull Road.<\/p>\n<p>The road is a key part of the \u00a322 million Beverley integrated transport plan, one of the largest capital investments ever undertaken by the East Riding of Yorkshire council, which the Department for Transport has supported with \u00a316.3 million funding.<\/p>\n<p>Robert Goodwill said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>It\u2019s fantastic to see the progress made on this scheme. I know this new road is much needed and has been long awaited by the town.<\/p>\n<p>Beverley\u2019s popularity has grown but the road network, with its narrow medieval streets and one-way system, is unable to meet growing traffic demands.
