Our new mailbox for Interests of Justice (IOJ) appeals is proving popular and it is important that you use the pro forma and follow the correct process.<\/p>\n

This was outlined in our news article on 3 March 2015 \u2013 see link below.<\/p>\n

Key points include:<\/p>\n

  1. \n

    Download the pro forma called \u2018Application to appeal grant of legal aid refused on Interests of Justice criteria\u2019 \u2013 see below.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Only submit one IOJ appeal pro forma in each email.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    Use the email subject line to state which criminal application team (CAT) site made the original decision, eg \u2018IOJ appeal CAT Birmingham\/Liverpool\/Nottingham\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    If you do not follow the process and download the correct pro forma then your appeal will be delayed. <\/p>\n

    CJSM Secure eMail<\/h3>\n

    When emailing any sensitive or personal information remember to use CJSM Secure email. This is the best way of safeguarding personal or sensitive data when you send emails and avoids the risk of possible data breaches under the Data Protection Act (DPA).<\/p>\n
