M20 junctions 5 to 4, Maidstone, Kent: resurfacing<\/h2>\n

The London-bound carriageway will continue to be closed overnight, between 8pm and 6am, for five nights from Monday 27 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the distributor road at junction 6 and the A20. The work is due to finish in May.<\/p>\n

M23 junction 11, Crawley, West Sussex: sign renewal<\/h2>\n

Lane closures will be in place in both directions overnight, between 8pm and 6am, (Monday to Friday only) until the beginning of May .<\/p>\n

A2 Jubilee Way, Dover, Kent: lighting replacement<\/h2>\n

The coastbound carriageway between the Eastern Docks roundabout and Guston roundabout will be closed overnight from Wednesday 9 April for three nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A256 and A20. In addition, an overnight lane closure will be in place on the London-bound carriageway between the Eastern Docks roundabout and the Guston roundabout from Monday 27 April for five consecutive nights. All work will be carried out between 8pm and 6am. Work is due to finish in May.<\/p>\n

A2 Patrixbourne, Kent: remedial joint replacement<\/h2>\n

The coastbound carriageway between Bridge and Coldharbour Lane will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 6am, on Thursday 30 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A299 and A256. In addition, there will be a lane closure on the London-bound carriageway. <\/p>\n

A20 Roundhill Tunnel, Kent: routine maintenance<\/h2>\n

The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday 27 April for two nights.<\/p>\n

The eastbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Wednesday 29 April for two nights.<\/p>\n

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A259 and the A260.<\/p>\n

A21 Tonbridge to Pembury: Kent, major improvement work<\/h2>\n

The carriageway in both directions between Vauxhall and Longfield roundabout will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 6am, on Monday 27 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A228 and A26.<\/p>\n

A21 Marley Lane, Whatlington, East Sussex: vegetation clearance<\/h2>\n

Temporary traffic lights will be in place overnight, between 8pm and 6am, on Tuesday 28 April.<\/p>\n

A23 Handcross to Warninglid, West Sussex: major improvement scheme<\/h2>\n

The coastbound entry slip road at Handcross will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday 27 April for five nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A23 London-bound carriageway.<\/p>\n

A27 Kingsham, West Sussex: new footbridge construction<\/h2>\n

Narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit will remain in place until mid July. Temporary pedestrian traffic lights will be in place on Hunston Road adjacent to the work access and across the A27 in both directions east of the roundabout and across Whyke Road. A 30mph speed limit will be in place between the Bognor and Stockbridge roundabouts. There will also be overnight lane closures in both directions.<\/p>\n

A27 Lewes East, West Sussex: drainage<\/h2>\n

Lane closures in both directions will be in place overnight, between 8pm and 6am, from Monday 27 April for five days. <\/p>\n

Safety at roadworks<\/h2>\n

Highways England is working with the industry and road users to reduce the risks of working on the roads. For the safety of road workers and all road users, when you are approaching roadworks:<\/p>\n

  • keep within the speed limit \u2013 it is there for your safety<\/li>\n
  • get into the correct lane in good time \u2013 don\u2019t keep switching<\/li>\n
  • concentrate on the road ahead, not the roadworks<\/li>\n
  • be alert for works\u2019 traffic leaving or entering roadworks<\/li>\n
  • keep a safe distance \u2013 there could be queues in front<\/li>\n
  • observe all signs \u2013 they are there to help you<\/li>\n
  • be alert for road workers, the roads are their workplace<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
