{"id":56587,"date":"2015-04-29T14:46:00","date_gmt":"2015-04-29T14:46:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=be27ee08a2c4fb061f2acf38a8a6faba"},"modified":"2015-05-13T13:49:58","modified_gmt":"2015-05-13T13:49:58","slug":"news-story-government-legal-department-launches-summer-placement-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=56587","title":{"rendered":"News story: Government Legal Department summer placement scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Updated:<\/em> Page updated following application deadline date.<\/p>\n<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<div class=\"call-to-action\">\n<p>Please note that the deadline date has now passed and applications are no longer being accepted.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>A vacation placement with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/organisations\/government-legal-department\">Government Legal Department (<abbr title=\"Government Legal Department\">GLD<\/abbr>)<\/a> is a great way for students with a particular interest in law to gain a practical insight into the work carried out by the largest department in the <abbr title=\"Government Legal Service\">GLS<\/abbr>.<\/p>\n<p>The <abbr title=\"Government Legal Department\">GLD<\/abbr> vacation scheme is open to any law undergraduate student or those currently completing the <abbr title=\"Graduate Diploma in Law\">GDL<\/abbr>, <abbr title=\"Legal Practice Course\">LPC<\/abbr> or <abbr title=\"Bar Professional Training Course\">BPTC<\/abbr>.<\/p>\n<p>There are a total of 10 placements running over two, one-week schemes.
