{"id":57037,"date":"2015-05-19T18:15:28","date_gmt":"2015-05-19T18:15:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=59da2278ac4f555736ff6c22eaffce83"},"modified":"2015-05-19T18:15:28","modified_gmt":"2015-05-19T18:15:28","slug":"press-release-press-briefing-morning-19-may-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=57037","title":{"rendered":"Press release: Press briefing: morning 19 May 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<h2 id=\"immigration\">Immigration<\/h2>\n<p>When asked if it was still the government\u2019s ambition to get net migration down to the tens of thousands, the Prime Minister\u2019s Official Spokesperson (<abbr title=\"Prime Minister's Official Spokesperson\">PMOS<\/abbr>) said it remained the government\u2019s ambition.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"financial-sector-remuneration\">Financial Sector Remuneration<\/h2>\n<p>When asked about remuneration in the financial services sector, the <abbr title=\"Prime Minister's Official Spokesperson\">PMOS<\/abbr> said the Prime Minister\u2019s view was reflected in the government\u2019s policies around the banks in which the government owned a stake &#8211; like the limits on cash bonuses at \u00a32,000 for Lloyd\u2019s and RBS; the importance of there being deferral and claw-back mechanisms; as well as greater transparency in the publication of senior executive pay; and giving shareholders a binding vote on remuneration packages.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"uk-democracy\">UK democracy<\/h2>\n<p>When asked about the suggestion that sectors of the population were being left without access to levels of power in society, the <abbr title=\"Prime Minister's Official Spokesperson\">PMOS<\/abbr> said the Prime Minister strongly believed in spreading privilege rather than defending it &#8211; a principle which guided his policies and decision making.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"eu-referendum\">EU referendum<\/h2>\n<p>When asked about the UK\u2019s future in the EU the <abbr title=\"Prime Minister's Official Spokesperson\">PMOS<\/abbr> said the Prime Minister was the person who was providing certainty, adding he was the one who had a very clear plan to go and renegotiate the UK\u2019s relationship with the EU.
