{"id":57258,"date":"2015-05-27T12:55:18","date_gmt":"2015-05-27T12:55:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=c9750f37e5f12e2d3e174bddc8513ef6"},"modified":"2015-05-27T12:55:18","modified_gmt":"2015-05-27T12:55:18","slug":"news-story-cma-consults-on-updated-guidance-for-sunset-clauses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=57258","title":{"rendered":"News story: CMA consults on updated guidance for \u2018sunset clauses\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Sunset clauses act as a time limit on measures introduced by the Competition and Markets Authority (<abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr>) by specifying a date or event after which they will no longer apply.<\/p>\n<p>Although the current published guidance on market investigations makes reference to sunset clauses, the <abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr> is now consulting on a clearer commitment to considering the use of such time-limited remedies in future investigations, as well as providing guidance on how it will approach that consideration.<\/p>\n<p>This is part of a wider programme by the <abbr title=\"Competition and Markets Authority\">CMA<\/abbr> to ensure that remedies are not kept in place longer than is necessary to achieve their purpose.
