{"id":58160,"date":"2015-06-19T11:09:00","date_gmt":"2015-06-19T11:09:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?guid=5516c0e3d109a5be5f408608c4f5bd55"},"modified":"2015-06-19T11:09:00","modified_gmt":"2015-06-19T11:09:00","slug":"press-release-east-anglian-foundation-trust-to-fix-its-finances","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/?p=58160","title":{"rendered":"Press release: East Anglian foundation trust to fix its finances"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"govspeak\">\n<p>Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust has agreed steps to improve its financial position in order to put services for patients on a sustainable basis. <\/p>\n<p>Following a Monitor investigation, the mental health trust, which provides a wide range of health and social care services will now: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>develop an ambitious and realistic financial recovery plan; and<\/li>\n<li>track the effectiveness of its financial management activity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Monitor opened an investigation in November 2014 following a deterioration in the trust\u2019s financial performance. <\/p>\n<p>This found that the trust had breached its licence to provide health care services on a sustainable basis by predicting a \u00a39.4m deficit for 2015\/16, and by not having an adequate recovery plan.  <\/p>\n<p>Norfolk and Suffolk has been subject to enforcement action by Monitor since February 2015, including being placed in special measures to improve the quality of its patient services.<\/p>\n<p>The regulator is helping the trust to fix these problems by appointing an Improvement Director at the trust and partnering it with Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.<\/p>\n<p>Laura Mills, Deputy Regional Director at Monitor, said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are pleased Norfolk and Suffolk has recognised that it must balance improving the quality of its patients\u2019 services with having a good control of its finances.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese steps, if done effectively, should enable the trust to balance its books and ensure patients are able to receive quality services for the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The regulator will closely scrutinise the trust\u2019s progress in making these steps.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust has agreed steps to improve its financial position for the benefit of patients.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":8,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[13],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/58160"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/8"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=58160"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/58160\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=58160"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=58160"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mostafa.openonline.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=58160"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
