Mr Thomas Carter has been appointed Her Majesty\u2019s Ambassador to the Republic of Guatemala in succession to Mrs Sarah Dickson, who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment. Mr Carter will take up his appointment during August 2015.<\/p>\n

Mr Carter joined the FCO in 1976 and most recently was responsible for the FCO\u2019s global consular policy. Prior to that he worked on the London 2012 Olympic Games, after completing a four year posting as joint British High Commissioner to Zambia with his wife, Carolyn Davidson. He has had a variety of previous postings in the Americas, Asia, and Europe.<\/p>\n

On his appointment as Her Majesty\u2019s Ambassador to the Republic of Guatemala, Mr Carter said:<\/p>\n
